Enamel Pin Grading Guide

Please keep in mind that all pins are hand made, they will not be perfect. Some may have very minor imperfections that are only visible upon very close up inspection and/or from a certain lighting or angle. 

A Grade (Standard): Standard highest quality pins 

  • Minor scratches on metal/enamel
  • Minor specks or pores on the pin
  • Minor plating imperfections/oxidation on the back
  • Minor low and uneven fills
  • Very slightly misaligned screen-printing (when applicable) 

B Grade (Seconds):

  • Small dust specs or bubbles
  • Light scratches or discolorations on the metal
  • Slightly low or uneven fills
  • Small scratches or fractures in the enamel
  • Possible plating imperfections/oxidation on the front or back
  • Slightly misaligned screen-printing (when applicable) 

C Grade (Seconds):

  • Dust specs or bubbles
  • Major or multiple scratches or discolorations on the metal
  • Scratches or fractures in the enamel
  • Area of missing or underfilled enamel
  • Plating imperfections/oxidation on the front or back
  • Misaligned or missing screen-printing (when applicable)
